If you place value on premium quality for your interior doors you should observe various criteria. The genuine wood edge is of significant importance for a long services life. When buying your doors, it is best to pay close attention and find out whether a solid wood edging protects the outer edges so that you can enjoy them for a long time. To ensure an optimal robustness we use only high-density fibreboard in our Josko doors, which further increases durability. Besides, you should attach importance to genuine wood veneers, which differ significantly from wood décor films or plastic films in how they feel. Our interior doors are covered exclusively with genuine wood veneers. Upon request, the veneer of all your interior doors can also be made only from a single tree trunk, which would create a calm and harmonious look. You can literally feel the "genuineness" of the materials in your home. If you rather have it simple, we recommend our painted interior doors. These are genuine wood at the core, partly even made of flax (a vegetable textile material that quickly grows back) and are always manufactured with a robust top layer. In addition, the surface treatment is a really important indication for the high quality of your interior doors. Our oils and varnishes are developed based on strict health criteria, which is primarily essential for doors in living areas and plays a decisive role for the doors of children's room. Another crucial point in respect of a calm and stress-free daily life is a quiet closing mechanism for your doors. At Josko we rely on integrated Soft Close & Stop fitting, to minimize the noise level in your home. But magnet latch lock also increases the comfort, because this enables your door to close particularly quietly and smoothly.
The genuineness of the materials offers not only a visual and ecological added value for your home, it is also primarily about functional advantages for your personal daily life. Genuine wood helps rooms with better acoustics absorbs the noise. In addition, it has the useful property that it improves the indoor climate by absorbing and releasing moisture based on current conditions. Moreover, genuine wood veneers help in fighting house dust, the genuine wood has an antistatic effect.
Our Josko doors can not only be made smooth. We can also implement brushed or rough-sawn surfaces with no problems, which provides the wood with even more originality.
At Josko, we love oak and have been working with trendy and timeless wood for several decades. Our interior doors made of genuine wood veneers are available in simple (calm), knotty, wild knotty, unspoilt (wild oak trunk form) and Venice oak variants. Just as the name suggests, this comes directly from waterways of Venice.
Usually, the width of the interior doors must be 80 cm, which is also what the standards says. For barrier-free living and for main entrances such as apartment doors the minimum width is 90 cm. The “width” here refers to the width of the actually usable passage clearance which in turn is determined by the size of the rough opening. Your Josko sales partner will be happy to advise you, especially regarding your favourite door model. For passage clearance it is essential to keep in mind that according to the standard the minimum height of 200 cm must not be exceeded. As for the width of your interior doors, our Josko products offer plenty of clearance. Unlike many other door manufacturers, you can purchase our doors in 1 cm increments without surcharge. This advantage is often decisive, especially when it comes to renovations.
When a door does not open up "into" a room but rather so to speak "out" of the room , we call it "outward opening". As a rule, the doors and fittings are installed in such a way that the door leaf swings into the room which you want to enter. It basically moves away from a so called "traffic area", such as a corridor. Exceptions are sometimes very small rooms, because the option of opening outwards has a great advantage: This variant is significantly more space-saving. However, make sure to comply with standard regulations. Only outward opening doors may be installed in rooms with an area of less than 1.80 sqm.
No, Josko interior doors are not bound to specific standard sizes. We even manufacture in 1 cm increments without surcharge, which can be quite practical especially for renovations.
In case of interior door systems with plastered frames, such as in case of our Josko Systems MET56 and ONE56, the interior doors must also be measured at the time of taking natural window dimensions. In these cases, the frames are installed before the interior plaster is applied, as they ultimately disappear into the masonry. In case of our interior door systems BET and VET, the natural dimensions can be taken even after the screed or after the interior plaster.
Neutral interior doors are still timelessly trendy and are therefore preferred by most of our customers. Either simply painted in white with smooth surfaces or with white wood oils so that the wood structure remains visible. There is a lot more to white than you think.
