If you value premium quality in your interior doors, there are several criteria to consider. Extremely important for long-term durability is the solid wood edge. It's best to pay close attention to this when purchasing your doors and inquire whether a solid wood edging protects the outer edges, ensuring long-lasting enjoyment. For optimal robustness, our Josko doors use only high-density fiberboards, further increasing longevity. Additionally, you should value real wood veneers, which differ significantly in texture from wood decor foils or plastic foils. Our interior doors are exclusively clad with real wood veneers. Upon request, the veneer of all your interior doors can even be made from a single tree trunk, creating a calm and harmonious appearance. You can literally feel the "authenticity" of the materials in your home. If you prefer simplicity, we recommend our painted interior doors. These doors are made with a core of real wood, some even with flax (a plant-based textile material that grows quickly), always with a robust surface layer. Furthermore, surface treatment is a crucial indicator of the high quality of your interior doors. Our oils and varnishes have been developed according to strict health criteria, which is essential, especially for doors in living areas, or plays a decisive role in children's room doors. Another crucial point, regarding a calm and stress-free everyday life, is a quiet closing mechanism for your doors. At Josko, we rely on the integrated Soft Close & Stop fitting to minimize the noise level in your home. But the magnetic latch also increases comfort because your door can be closed particularly quietly and smoothly with it.
The authenticity of materials not only provides visual and ecological benefits for your home but also offers functional advantages for everyday life. Real wood enhances room acoustics by absorbing sound. Additionally, it has the useful property of improving indoor air quality by absorbing and releasing moisture as needed. Real wood veneers also aid in combating household dust, as real wood is anti-static.
Our Josko doors can not only be executed smoothly but also brushed or rough-sawn surfaces can be easily implemented, which gives the wood even more originality
At Josko, we love oak and have been working with this trendy and timeless wood for several decades. Our interior doors made of oak veneer are available in various options: plain (quiet), knotty, wild knotty, rugged (wild oak trunk form), and as Venice oak. As the name suggests, the latter comes directly from the waterways of Venice.
Typically, the width of interior doors should be at least 80 cm, as stipulated by the standard. For barrier-free living and main entrances such as apartment doors, a minimum width of 90 cm is recommended. When we talk about "width" here, we mean the width of the actual usable passage light, which in turn is determined by the size of the rough opening. Your Josko sales partner will be happy to advise you on this, especially regarding your preferred door model. When it comes to passage light, it's important to note that according to the standard, a minimum height of 200 cm must not be exceeded. As for the width of your interior doors, our Josko products offer you a lot of flexibility. Unlike many other door manufacturers, you can order our doors in 1 cm increments at no extra cost. This advantage is often crucial, especially during renovations.
If a door opens not "into" a room but rather "out of" the room, it is called "outward-opening". Typically, doors and fittings are installed so that the door swings into the room you want to enter. It essentially moves away from a designated "traffic area," such as a hallway. Exceptions may occur in very small rooms because the option to open outward has a significant advantage: it saves a lot of space. However, be sure to adhere to the standard regulations. In rooms with an area below 1.80 m², only doors that open outward may be installed.
No, Josko interior doors are not bound to specific standard sizes. We even manufacture them in 1-centimeter increments at no extra cost, which can be particularly convenient for renovations.
For interior door systems with a recessed frame, such as our Josko systems MET56 and ONE56, the interior doors must be measured at the same time as the window measurements are taken. In these cases, the frames are installed before the interior plaster, as they will ultimately be concealed in the masonry. For our BET and VET interior door systems, the natural measurements can also be taken after the screed or after the interior plaster.
Neutral interior doors remain timeless and trendy, and are therefore preferred by most of our customers. Either simply painted white with a smooth surface or with white wood oils to preserve the visible wood grain. Because there is much more to white than you might have thought.
